Fall Out Boy Stream New Song, “Uma Thurman”

Fall Out Boy will be releasing American Beauty/American Psycho on January 20 and have been streaming new tracks on what seems to be a weekly basis.

With the release date a week away, we get at least one more glimpse into the album with “Uma Thurman.” Obviously named after the famous actress, the song itself is musically in the same highly-produced vicinity as the other singles we’ve experienced so far. Content wise, the band went down the avenue of using pop culture to tie in with the track, including a spin-off of the glorious theme song for The Munsters and singing about Thurman and John Travolta in the classic dance scene from Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction.

I have been listening to this album since Saturday. I think a big problem people have is they go into new FOB music and try to compare it to their old music. They aren’t that band anymore… but they are putting out fun music. Yes, this album is so heavily produced that it is crazy. This song is probably the cherry on top of the overly produced sundae… but what a delicious cherry it is.
