Hear In Tall Buildings’ Melodic ’70s Pop on “Unmistakable”

On February 17, indie rock solo project In Tall Buildings will drop his sophomore album, Driver. It’s a moody record of intimate vocals and quiet funk based off what we’ve heard so far, and now with his newest single, “Unmistakable,” streaming online, we can go ahead and tell you it’s one of our most anticipated underdog releases of the year.

The Chicago native isn’t looking to reinvent the past. His nods to Peter Gabriel and Afropunk are woven in with the natural efforts of someone blending electronic pop and synth funk in their head. With Erik Hall’s warm vocals, the song sounds like the perfect blend of singer-songwriter folk and modern funk. Give it a listen below (via Entertainment Weekly):
