Marvel Releasing Two Comic Book Covers Inspired By Run The Jewels

Recognize the album cover? It’s Run The Jewels 2, the followup to Killer Mike and El-P’s collaborative debut from 2013. The artwork features their signature hand gestures, which are well-known by fans. Soon those hand gestures will be known to a lot more people, thanks to Marvel.

The hip-hop outfit announced earlier today that their logo will be incorporated into not one, but two upcoming Marvel comics. They are Howard The Duck #2 and Deadpool #45. You can check out the illustrations for the two comics below.

According to Rolling Stone, the idea to draw inspiration from these two came from Marvel’s editor-in-chief Axel Alonso. His son is a fan of the group, and after seeing him and his friends referencing them on the sidelines of a football game Alfonso was struck with the idea.
