Mew Stream “Satellites,” Announce New Album ‘+ -‘

The most important Danish band of the last decade has broken their nearly five-year silence. And that broken silence comes in the form of a new single as well as an album announcement.

Mew, who put out one killer record in 2009 entitled No More Stories Are Told Today, I’m Sorry They Washed Away // No More Stories, The World Is Grey, I’m Tired, Let’s Wash Away, has announced the follow-up which will be called + – (said plus minus).

With that they have also released the first single, “Satellites,” as well as announced some European tour dates.

“Satellites” is everything great that Mew is known for. The song starts off incredibly dreamy, with floating vocals, quickly joined by some very light cymbal work. And before you know it, the song bursts into exactly what you would expect out of Mew if they wanted to write a “rock” song. It’s so good.

But don’t take my word for it. You can listen to it after the break. Not only that, but we have the track list and also the listed tour dates. Here’s to hoping they venture across the pond.

+ – will be released April 27/28. Pre-orders begin Jan. 21.
