Things don’t always go as planned in the music industry. Today, Have Mercy showed everyone how to make the best of a bad situation.
Several weeks ago, Front Porch Step announced a spring tour featuring support from Have Mercy, Alcoa, and Head North, with Hotel Books and Brigades set to appear on select dates. After allegations of sexual abuse against Front Porch Step mastermind Jake McElfresh surfaced online in late December, Have Mercy and Head North separately announced that they would not be touring with Front Porch Step, insisting that they would make it up to fans.
Today, Have Mercy has announced a brand new Spring headlining tour featuring an all-star cast of support including Weatherbox, You Me And Everyone We Know, and Head North. This tour lineup will be playing different venues than the Front Porch Step tour, so make sure to double check the dates below.
I love everything about this run. Weatherbox and You Me And Everyone We Know are fantastic bands and natural touring partners, and together they add a great new indie rock element to this incredible lineup. I also love that Have Mercy are using their newfound headlining privileges to give some exposure to UTG favorites Head North, who are sure to have a giant 2015 ahead of them. I’ll be at multiple dates of this run, which is sure to be the first must-see tour of 2015.
