Stream Night Riots’ Outstanding New EP, ‘Howl’

California rock outfit Night Riots have teamed with Earmilk to begin streaming their highly anticipated EP, Howl. Check it out after the break.

A follow-up to 2013’s Hallowed Ground, Howl finds the Sumerian five-piece stretching their creative muscles with the help of producer Eric Palmquist (The Mars Volta). The opener, “Oh My Heart,” welcomes listeners with a wave of pulsating synth, only to be followed by the aptly titled “Contagious,” which swells to a sky-high hook that seems destined for mainstream greatness. “Break” plays out like a carefree Hot Fuss B-side, while “Follow You” seems to have stepped right out of a John Hughes film. It’s a patchwork of influences stitched together in just the right way, and it just may be the group’s most impressive undertaking to date. If you agree, sound off in the comments section.

Night Riots will be holding down the West Coast for the remainder of January–check out a full list of tour dates here.
