Death Cab for Cutie Release “Black Sun” Lyric Video, Announce Tour

Death Cab For Cutie have shared the lyric video for “Black Sun,” the first single off their highly-anticipated new album, Kintsugi, and also the first track to surface from the band since the departure of longtime guitarist, Chris Walla.

It’s hard to go into a new song from someone like Death Cab For Cutie without having some type of expectation for the material on deck. Death Cab have carved a beautifully dynamic niche for themselves in the world of music up to this point, and “Black Sun” certainly does not disappoint. That said, it also doesn’t sound all that similar to the rest of the band’s catalog. It’s as if Codes And Keys underwent a bit of an evolution, only catchier. Check it out:

In addition to sharing “Black Sun,” Death Cab For Cutie have also revealed their latest US tour plans. The album comes out on March 31 and this tour exists to promote the release. The Antlers will serve as direct support. You can view a full list of dates below:
