California five-piece Incubus have previously announced that they will be putting out two new EPs this year under their new label, Island Records, some time during the first half of the year.

In conjunction with this much-anticipated news, the band has finally given us a taste of what is to come via a brand new single entitled “Absolute Calling.” As you quickly begin to notice they’ve channeled more trance-y/electronic elements in this new track, you also begin to realize that it is a fitting, present-day move, especially with their most recent offering, If Not Now, When?, stemming all the way back to early 2011.

Although this may be the case, there remains the signature rock and roll “Ah, that’s Incubus!” sound and energy, which will hopefully be stapled onto every track they put out this year. You can now listen to “Absolute Calling” below. Let us know what you think.
