Bayside Share Scathing New Single, “Dancing Like An Idiot”

Bayside have teamed up with Billboard to premiere a sour new single titled “Dancing Like An Idiot.” Taken from the band’s forthcoming Cult reissue, check out the track’s lyric video after the break, and let us know what you think in the replies.

According to frontman Anthony Raneri, the group’s latest effort is callout to bands that “are just writing giant curses on t-shirts and selling it to a kid ’cause they know the kid is stupid enough to buy it.”

“You’re telling them it’s cool to buy a t-shirt to piss their parents off. There’s nothing cool about that—that’s mall rebellion,” Raneri explained to Billboard. “That’s not real rebellion. I grew up liking The Smiths, liking Nirvana…I fucking hated Guns N’ Roses. It was bullshit, misogynistic, it was fake rebellion—nothing is more corporate and commercialized.”

Bayside’s upcoming Cult reissue hits shelves on March 3 via Hopeless records. Pre-orders are ongoing.
