An ‘Evil Dead’ TV Series Is In The Works

Fans of the Evil Dead movies have something to look forward to this coming Halloween. The next installment of the series will take form as a TV show on Starz, and it’s expected to be launched right around that time. The show will star Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams once again, and it follows him as he deals with the demons of his past – and present. You can read a brief overview of the plot by checking below.

In addition to Campbell, actress and Girlfriends‘ star Jill Marie Jones is confirmed as part of the cast. She will fill the role of Amanda Fisher – a disgraced state trooper who blames Ash for the death of her partner. After realizing what the real threat is, she begrudgingly teams up with him to fight off the Deadites.

We are introduced to a nomadic Ash, a figure who’s not only haunted by traumatic memories but also terrorized by the unwelcome continuance of Deadite attacks, which have followed him to the myriad Midwestern trailer parks he’s been forced to call home. In an effort to eke out an existence and in keeping with his previous choice of career, the character spends his days working at Ted’s Superclub as a stock room trainee and, in true Ash fashion, his evenings chasing skirt in roadside bars.
