Whether or not you care about Insurgent, the fast-approaching sequel to the 2014 film Divergent, does not matter right now. The song you’re about to enjoy is taken from the film’s soundtrack, but your personal excitement (or lack thereof) for that particular feature should not impact how you view the song included in this post. It’s awesome, and it would be awesome regardless of how Insurgent performs. Good music is good music, plain and simple.
OKAY. Now that we have all that out of the way, I need to tell you about “Holes In The Sky.” Created by M83 with a little help from the women of HAIM, the Insurgent soundtrack contribution is a lush and sweeping song about memories of times now long gone. It’s the kind of brooding track that fits nicely in the M83 wheelhouse while still challenging the ladies of HAIM to work outside their comfort zone. I said above that I believe it’s an awesome creation, and I have a feeling you will soon feel the same. You can stream “Holes In The Sky” below:
