Less than a week has passed since Mumford And Sons shared the first taste of their post-folk sound, and now it seems Of Monsters And Men want to prove they too have evolved since their debut. The band just announced a new album titled Beneath The Skin, and earlier today they shared a lyric video for the record’s first single.

I don’t know what I expected from “Crystals,” but I can promise you it wasn’t the song you’re about to hear. Of Monsters And Men have not completely abandoned the sound that made them top 40 mainstays, but like other breakout bands in recent years they are attempting to change ever-so-slightly in hopes of remaining an act worthy of discussion. The results are fine, but the single lacks the kind of infectiousness needed to make you want to listen again right away. Listen below and let us know if you agree:
