Dej Loaf Drops “On My Own” Video

The hype surrounding Detroit native Dej Loaf has been building since the 2014 release of her Sell Sole mixtape. After making her debut appearance at SXSW earlier this month, Dej is now saying farewell to March with the release of her official video for “On My Own.” If you want to hear the future of hip-hop, please continue reading.

Like most of the material found on Sell Sole, “On My Own” finds Dej Loaf talking about her city, her struggle, and the hard work she had to put in before making it to the national spotlight. Her smooth voice makes even the deadliest lines go down easy, and the all black and white video makes Detroit look downright gorgeous. You can view the visuals below.

We tried to speak with Dej Loaf while at SXSW, but we were unable to make our schedules align. Our hope is to one day right that wrong, and until we do we will make sure to not allow another Dej Loaf headline to pass us by.
