We are fast-approaching the four-year anniversary of the tragic passing of singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse. Her death left a major hole in the world of pop music, but soon the story of her beautiful, albeit ultimately tragic life will be told.

A24 Films will release Amy, a documentary about the life of Amy Winehouse, later this year. News of the studio’s acquisition of the title hit news outlets only yesterday, but already the company has released a 90-second teaser for the upcoming feature. The clip offers glimpses of young Winehouse, as well as commentary from a number of talking heads. You can view the footage at the end of this post.

There is currently no US release date for Amy, but A24 will release the documentary in the UK on July 3. Stay tuned for more information.
