We receive hundreds of new music submissions every week at UTG, and of those only a select few ever make it to the front page. Even less appear more than once, which is probably as much our fault as theirs (communication is a two-way street), but every so often a musician or group comes along that we know right away will soon be a front page regular. This week that musician is Amnesia Beach, and I think you too will soon fall victim to their unique take on the singer-songwriter genre.

Hailing from California, Amnesia Beach boasts a complex and often incredibly thrilling sound unlike any new musician to come across our desks in some time. His latest single, “The Light,” builds from a whisper to a chaotic, roaring rock song and then-almost like magic-finds a way to calm down once more without losing a moment of steam. It’s a white-knuckle-inducing journey into the mind of an artist who knows no boundrary for his sound, and I hope to God there is more material like it to come in the near future.
