Green Day To Make “Special Announcement” At Tonight’s Rock Hall Ceremony

According to Cleveland.com, Green Day are set to make a special announcement at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where they are to appear tonight.

The article states that anything from retirement to a new record announcement could come from the band this evening — let’s hope for the latter. And a tour. The band just finished a killer set at the House of Blues in Cleveland on Thursday — which featured tracks from Sweet Children, the predecessor band to Green Day.

Under The Gun will be covering this year’s Rock Hall ceremony live from Cleveland — follow @UTGReview, @callinghomematt, and @KMGPhotographie to keep up to date on Green Day’s announcement.

So, first, that Cleveland.com article had no legitimate source. This is all just based on a rumor someone started. Two, Tim Armstrong is the guitarist from the band Rancid, who played a couple of songs later in the night. John Kiffmeyer (Al Sobrante), the original drummer, played the Sweet Children set.
