Fucked Up Release New Song “California Cold,” Announce ‘Zodiac Tour’

Fucked Up 2014

Fucked Up might be the last incredibly innovative band making hardcore punk music. The band has released a new, eight-minute track called “California Cold,” which serves as the B-side to the upcoming Year Of The Hare 12″ single.

The first three minutes or so of “California Cold” sound like Fucked Up’s best attempt at making a song in the vein of Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” and it actually works pretty well. Flutes appear around the four-minute mark, and it slowly descends into chaos from there. Considering this is just a B-side, I’m excited to see what kind of elements the band has in store for the newest installment of their long-running Zodiac series.

The band has also announced a tour to coincide with the release of Year of The Hare, which will be heavy on material from the Zodiac series. Aptly titled ‘Zodiac Tour,’ the band’s summer run will extend from early May to late July. Dates are available below.

You can stream “California Cold” after the jump. Year of the Hare drops June 16 via Deathwish.
