In anticipation of the upcoming Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck (which editor James Shotwell loved), director Brett Morgen has shown off a recently unearthed recording of Kurt Cobain covering The Beatles‘ timeless ballad, “And I Love Her.”
The recording has a considerable amount of tape hiss and sounds like it was recorded for personal use rather than to ever get a formal release. In a recording like this, it’s easy to see that under all of the fuzz and angst of the Nirvana era, Cobain was an extremely talented man with an unbelievable ability to emote.
