The pop-punk world is set to explode on May 18 when The Story So Far release their new self-titled record. We’ve already heard a few cuts from the record, and the band has started off Monday morning by releasing another single titled “Heavy Gloom.”
Track two on the new record, “Heavy Gloom” plays closely to the formula we’ve come to expect from the Walnut Creek band. As usual, Parker Cannon’s powerful voice takes center stage over a grooving, distorted pop-punk instrumental. I’m a fan of the prominent bass tones on this song, but all in all, this sounds a lot like your standard The Story So Far song. If you’re a fan of the band, you’ll like this. If not, you probably won’t.
