REQUIRED LISTENING: Leon Bridges Shares “River”

We have been hyping the forthcoming superstardom of Leon Bridges since the fall of 2014. Since that time he has released three incredible singles, each offering a different side of his undeniably timeless throwback sound, and with his latest release Bridges has us believing there is nothing that can stop this young man from becoming the new big thing.

“River” is a variation on the classic gospel song of the same name. Accompanied by just his guitar at the state, Bridges navigates the song with earnest emotion and powerful vocals. It’s not the sock hop style music he has shared up to this point, but something far more subdued. You can stream the song below.

Bridges’ debut album, Coming Home, is due out in June.
