There’s a different kind of heartache rippling around the blues community as reports surface regarding the unstable health of long-time blues guitar legend, B.B. King.
King, 89, suffered a minor heart attack last week and returned to his home in Las Vegas over the weekend to enter hospice care. A statement to the Associated Press, from his manager, Laverne Toney, can be read below.
“Mr. King is where he wishes to be. He’s always told me he doesn’t want to be in a hospital. He wants to be at home.”
According to his website, the last show King played was at the House of Blues in Chicago on Oct. 3, 2014. It is unclear at this time if King has any plans to play or record more music while in hospice care. Follow the jump to jam a King and Eric Clapton classic, “Riding With The King.”
