Lionsgate Officially Announces ‘John Wick 2’

“People keep asking if I’m back and I haven’t really had an answer, but yeah, I’m thinking I’m back.”

John Wick said it best. Today, after weeks of rumors, Lionsgate officially announced plans to create John Wick 2. The new sequel will feature the return of Keanu Reeves in the title role, as well as the return of directeors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. Additionally, screenwriter Derek Kolstad will return to pen the film’s script. No release date has been set, but late 2016 is certainly not out of the question.

John Wick 2 will be released by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label and will be produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk, who produced the first picture. Lionsgate will be selling the film’s international rights at Cannes this week, so you can expect even more news related to the recently announced sequel to make headlines in the not too distant future.
