Earlier this morning, Nate Ruess continued to showcase his pop prowess by unveiling another new single titled “Great Big Storm.” Give it a listen after the break.
The fun. frontman’s newest track is taken from his forthcoming LP, Grand Romantic, which is set to arrive on June 16 via Fueled By Ramen. It is our third taste of the 33-year-old’s debut solo album following the release of “Nothing Without Love” and “ahHa.”
While I’m usually a fan of Ruess’ introspective, radio-ready anthems, something about “Great Big Storm” just doesn’t sit well with me. Sure, it’s catchy, but it’s also painfully predictable, and in my opinion, the weakest of the three tracks shared so far. If you agree, sound off in the replies.
