BB King, one of the greatest blues musicians of any era, died yesterday in Las Vegas. He had been in hospice care after suffering a heart attack earlier this year.
The singer and guitarist, a Mississippi native, delivered over six decades of irrplaceable blues music; including Lucille, Live at the Regal, and his collaborative album with Eric Clapton, Riding With the King.
During his career, King was nominated for 30 Grammy Awards. He was 89 years old.
Clapton, and many others in the musical community, took to social media to pay their respects to King. Watch the video Clapton posted to his Facebook page, paying tribute to King’s influence, here.
