UTG PREMIERE: Life Lessons – ‘What The Silence Meant’ EP

life lesson new ep stream 2015

Oklahoma-based pop-punk band Life Lessons flourishes with their brand new EP, What The Silence Meant.

The record has moments, like leadoff track “Hang Your Head,” where the band is utterly abrasive and emotional — the music jumps out from the speakers and pierces through you with every transparent vibration. And then there are moments on the record, like the closing track, “Silver,” that come off more sincere and less gritty, while nonetheless passionate.

Vocalist Kaden Birdsong called the record “aggressive,” stating it’s a collection of songs about learning to be yourself and growing on your own.

“We’re coming from a place where we just want to be ourselves and be something different while still representing the sound we all love and grew up on,” he said. “We all have different influences and ideas, and we try our best to let our music reflect that.”
