New Music: Meek Mill, Travis Scott & Strap – “Miss My Dawgs”

Less than twenty-four hours after the untimely death of Chinx Drugz shocked the music community, Meek Mill has partnered with two of hip-hop’s hottest up and comers for a new track paying tribute to those taken from us too soon.

“Miss My Dawgs” found its way online within eighteen hours of Chinx’s death making headlines on Sunday, May 17. The song features Meek, Travi$ Scott, and Strap going in against the kind of production that has you thinking about better days, with numerous references to the recently fallen entertainer. There are also references to Lil Snupe, a former member of Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers label who was shot in the streets of Philadelphia in 2013. Meek sums up the reason for the song in the opening bars, and it’s the kind of delivery that will send chills down your spine:

“They killed Chinx Drugz in his own city
They killed Lil Snupe in his own city
Wonder why I don’t be in my own city
I don’t know if n*ggas gon’ clap for me or gon’ kill me”

You can stream the song below.

Chinx was shot and kill while driving his Porsche through Queens, New York early Sunday morning. Head over to Time for the full story.
