UTG PREMIERE: Sleep On It – “Bright”

sleep on it 2015 bright song release

Perfecting their pop-rock sound through a mature mixture of infectious melodies and captivating lyricism, Sleep On It are ready to continue their climb to scene supremacy with the brand new EP, Safe Again.

The first song to be released from the record, “Bright,” is catchy and passionate — the perfect example of what Sleep On It’s new record is all about. Produced by Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Have Mercy, The Dangerous Summer), it’s as powerful as it is memorable; a song not to sleep on heading into the swing of summer.

Guitarist T.J. Horansky said this track was picked as the debut because the band liked the feeling of nostalgia from the lyrics juxtaposed with the summertime vibe of the music.

“‘Bright’ is about learning to recognize the things and people in your life that really matter and to not take them for granted,” he said. “I think a lot of people make that mistake along that way, but it’s important to grow from those mistakes. We chose “Bright” as the first single because we like the feeling of nostalgia from the lyrics juxtaposed with the summertime vibe of the music.”

Horansky also commented on the band’s new record, which is due out June 19.

“I think Safe Again showcases our growth as songwriters while maintaining the key elements that helped define our sound on Everything, All At Once,” he said.
