The wait is over, ‘90s kids. After two years of anticipation, we have finally been given the first official trailer for Rob Letterman’s big-screen adaptation of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps.
The film, which is currently slated for an October 16 release via Columbia Pictures, follows a group of youngsters who accidentally unleash all of Stine’s creations upon an unsuspecting small town. Jack Black is set to play the reclusive wordsmith, while Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush will add some essential teenage romance to the monster mayhem. Jillian Bell, Amy Ryan, Ken Marino, Kumail Nanjiani, and the Abominable Snowman of Pasadena round out the cast.
While the Goosebumps universe penned by writers Darren Lemke, Scott Alexander and Larry Karazewski isn’t quite the nightmare-inducing creepshow I remember from my youth (Eat shit, Slappy), it’s hard not to get stoked on Letterman’s latest undertaking. View the trailer below, and let us know if you’re excited in the replies.
