Drake Shares “Energy” Video, New Song & Beats 1 News

As if the first global international release date was not busy enough, the hardest working man in music dropped three major pieces of news before most people were out of the office.

Starting with the weirdest of the bunch, Drizzy first shared the long-awaited video for “Energy.” The If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late track was too aggressive for a traditional performance piece, so instead Drake embodies everyone (literally) from Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, to Lebron James and Larry Flynt to make the clip come to life. The final product is possibly the weirdest mainstream rap video of the year, and in 2015 that is quite a trophy to hold. You can view the clip over on Stereogum.

If music videos are not your thing, then perhaps you’ll be excited to know Drake also released a new song today. “My Love” is a powerful collaboration with Majid Jordan that finds our Canadian hero touching on the same ups and downs of love that first made him a household name. The song premiered on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music show, but you can now stream the track below.

Last, but certainly not least, Drake also chose today to reveal that his Beats 1 radio debut will happen tomorrow, July 11, at 6:00 p.m. EST. “That radio show you don’t want to miss,” the rapper later tweeted, adding, “Oliver vs Drake sound clash so you know I had to let exclusives ring off. No sound can test. AT ALL.”
