First ‘Deadpool’ Trailers Are Basically A Fan’s Wet Dream

The wait is over.

A little over a year after unreleased test footage of a long-shelved Deadpool film leaked online, 20th Century Fox has released the first official trailer for the movie the internet demanded they create.

Deadpool is known by some as Wade Wilson, a mercenary who chooses to join the Weapon-X program after learning his body is riddled with cancer. The disease is destroyed, but so is life as Wade knows it, and he finds himself left with no other choice than to spend his days fighting crime. Well that, and eating as many chimichangas as he can fit inside himself.

The first trailer for Deadpool gives viewers just enough of an introduction to the character to create a few laughs, tease a few fights, and genuinely make a strong first impression. The clip runs nearly three minutes in length, but having watched it several times already this morning I still cannot tell you the plot of the film beyond Wade’s transition. You can view both red and green band trailers for the film below.

I don’t know how many of you caught the super low quality leaks of the Deadpool footage screened at San Diego Comic-Con a while back, but I’m told the red band trailer released last night is essentially the same clip. A few CGI shots have been updated, but otherwise it’s pretty much beat for beat. As far as I’m concerned, it’s more than enough to convince me this movie is everything a fan of Deadpool could hope to see created. Comment below and let us know if you agree.
