Deafheaven have given us our first glimpse of their third LP, New Bermuda, in the form of an eight-minute blitzkrieg titled “Brought To The Water.” Stream it below, and once you’re done headbanging, let us know what you think in the comments.
“We wanted to share ‘Brought To The Water’ first because it gives a good idea of the overall sonic tone of the record and really evokes feelings that come with uprooting and throwing oneself into the complacent, monotonous routine of adulthood,” explained frontman George Clarke.
Though I usually shy away from black metal, as per usual, Deafheaven have crafted something wholly unique and engrossing with their latest single. “Brought To The Water” highlights the San Fran outfit’s uncanny ability to blend melody and mayhem, and will surely have fans of 2013’s Sunbather aching for more. If you dig it, you can pre-order New Bermuda here.
