Trivium May Be Preparing To Release Their Best Album Yet

Here’s a harsh truth that is tough for any industry professional to accept: Lasting more than five years in music today is an accomplishment for artists in any genre, but managing to stay relevant while changing your sound is something only a select few ever pull off. Trivium, for better or worse, have done exactly as they pleased for over a decade and fans have stuck by their side through it all. If the group’s latest singles are any signs of what lies on the horizon, it seems longtime supporters may be on the verge of hearing the album they always knew the band could deliver. It’s about damn time.

So far, two singles from Trivium’s highly-anticipated new album Silence In The Snow have found their way online. The first was the title track, which combined the heavy sound of In Waves with the lyricism and vocals found on Shogun. Fans young and old were into it, and for the first time since before the release of Vengeance Falls in 2013 it seemed there may still be hope for the band’s ever-evolving take on hard rock. If you missed the song when it premiered, you can view the video below:

Today, about a week after the audio hit the net, Trivium released a music video for another Silence track titled “Blind Leading The Blind.” The song is a far more straightforward rock juggernaut, with vocalist Matthew Heafy delivering his signature clean vocals over driving riffs that never let up. The video seems to be an homage to the forgotten 80s film Over The Top with a little bit of Terminator thrown in for good measure, but I can’t really be sure. All I know is that the song absolutely rips, and it has me more excited than ever for Trivium’s new record. Check it out:

Silence In The Snow won’t hit stores until early October, so the likelihood of several additional songs finding their way online before then is very, very high. We will continue to follow the band’s efforts, posting each track as they premiere. Follow UTG on Twitter to ensure you never miss a headline.
