Vanna Cover Manson’s “The Beautiful People,” Announce New EP

Boston post-hardcore legends Vanna have announced plans to release a covers EP titled Alt in early October. The five-track release finds the band covering some of the biggest rock songs of the last twenty-five years, and earlier today the first cut from the record found its way online.

Marilyn Manson’s “The Beautiful People” is a song that requires no introduction. In a world where dark rock anthems are a dime a dozen, something about “The Beautiful People” has remained engaging and unique since the day it was initially released. Vanna’s take is heavier than the original, but it’s not the all-out punk jam some may be expecting. You can stream the cover below.

Vocalist Davey Muise said, “One of the first songs and videos I was taken with–Manson’s lyrics and attention grabbing ways have always spoken to the anti-conformity in me, not to mention they made me start questioning what was put in front of me even as young as I was. My anthem for rebelling with a cause, and reason to wear black.”

The full track listing for Alt is as follows:
1. Beautiful People (Marilyn Manson)
2. Self-Esteem (The Offspring)
3. Zero (Smashing Pumpkins
4. Got The Life (Korn)
5. Fuel (Metallica)

The cover art for Alt can be found below the song stream. Comment and let us know if you’ll be purchasing Alt when it arrives in stores on October 2.
