Fill your daily need for sugar-sweet electronic pop with the brand new song from ThatOneEyedKid, “Siphon.” The track’s a tantalizing and overtly positive number, making it hard not to bring a smile to your face.
The song comes straight off of TOEK’s new record, Always, which is due out Sept 18. Wondering where the name “ThatOneEyedKid” comes from? Boston-based mastermind Josh Friedman is a cancer survivor, leaving him embracing his one-eyed persona through this project that’s sending out song after song with positive messages. Friedman had this to say about the new track:
‘Siphon’ is about being in love with someone so much that you kind of lose yourself. It’s about pouring yourself out for someone to the point where maybe there’s nothing left of you. I think a lot of times when I care about someone so much it’s hard to remember to take care of yourself.
