Atlanta-based alternative country band Quaildogs are gearing up for the release of their debut LP, The Getting Old Factory, which is due out Sept. 15. In anticipation of next week’s release, Under The Gun has the exclusive stream of a compelling track off the record — “Reunion.”

The song delivers a western swing while still holding true to a alt-country formula. It’s a song that tells a story — which you’ll have to find out about for yourself by listening — and it’s a song that really pulls people in. Everything about the track is simply good. Quaildogs multi-instrumentalist Michael Barnhart had this to say about the new track:

This story in ‘Reunion’ is told from the perspective of someone who is holding on to all of those memories so tightly that he hasn’t really been able to grow past them. Old friends, people around him, they’re all moving on, growing up, starting lives and families, and this character is still thinking about all these people as if the past decade hasn’t happened. Those were the best years of his life, and he’s obsessed with the memories, but as he gets older, thinking back hurts more. This guy used to be the man, and now he’s living this shitty life, wondering why he’s unhappy, watching the world pass him by. He can’t go back, and the supposed next best thing, these reunions, just leave him feeling sad and lonely.
