Have Mercy Share New Single, “Collider”

In anticipation of their upcoming tour alongside Transit, Somos and Microwave, Baltimore’s Have Mercy have teamed with Noisey to premiere a new, stand-alone single titled “Collider.” Listen in after the jump.

“This song came out of nowhere,” vocalist Brian Swindle explained. “We were rehearsing for our spring tour and started jamming on these simple three chords. We went to Paul Leavitt over the course of a few months to track it. Really, just to tweak things and mess with it a little more. It ended up being this tad bit heavier version of Have Mercy. Will this reflect what our next album may sound like? Not at all. But I definitely think it’s a cool song to bang your head to.”

Swindle’s description is apt–this is the beefiest jam that the four-piece have released in some time–and truth be told, I’m actually a little bummed that this change isn’t permanent. “Collider” is both powerful and easy to swallow, bringing to mind emo frontrunners like Jimmy Eat World and The Ataris. If you dig it too, sound off in the replies.

As mentioned, the group will be on the road for the next few months, touring in support of their latest album, A Place Of Our Own. A full list of dates can additionally be found below.
