Rome Hero Foxes breathe new life into late-aughts post-hardcore with second LP

Mid-to-late 2000s post-hardcore is alive and well in 2016 and we have zero complaints, as long as it’s good of course. Luckily, when it comes to the work of Texas four-piece Rome Hero Foxes, it’s really damn good. Pleasingly reminiscent of genre favorites Saosin, HRVRD, Tides Of Man, PMtoday and newer acts in the vein of Turnover, Rome Hero Foxes’ newest full-length, titled For When You’re Falling Backwards, is an album you’re going to regret having overlooked once you finally give it your time if you don’t do so now. Stop being unfamiliar with the band’s excellent output and listen to the entirety of their new LP below.

When asked about the theme of the record, vocalist CJ Burton explained to Substream (where the album premiered this week), “This record explores every emotion and characteristic of what it’s like to be lost in yourself or in a relationship that you know you shouldn’t be a part of. As a songwriter who relies on music to get through hard times, I wanted to produce a record that documents my experiences with this theme and have it be a crutch for someone who is undergoing similar issues and hurdles in life with themselves or someone else.”

Set to release on January 24 via Kurt Travis’ (A Lot Like Birds) label Esque Records, For When You’re Falling Backwards can be pre-ordered here.
