UTG PREMIERE: Troubled Minds – ‘Something Worth Saving’ EP

Troubled Minds
Today, we’re excited to bring you Something Worth Saving, the aptly-titled new EP from Phoenix, Arizona’s Troubled Minds. Stream it in full after the jump.

Wide-ranging and well-written, the trio’s latest undertaking is an emo-leaning alt-rock rollercoaster that is sure to leave a lasting impression. There’s a striking self-assurance pulsing beneath each and every hook, and while the sonic impact of more established acts is undeniable, never at any point are these influences overwhelming. This is smart music with a mind all its own, and you’re going to love it.

Speaking on the outfit’s newest release, vocalist Matt Aldawood shared:

“‘Something Worth Saving is a 7-track EP in the vein of bands like Glocca Morra, Brand New, and You Blew It!. Troubled Minds is looking to be progressive in the emo revival scene by bringing something new to the table. The EP is very dynamic, starting off strong and upbeat with “Silk Flowers,” “Chronophobia,” “Vanishing Act” and “Pride,” then bringing down the tempo for “Inhale/Exhale,” which is a somber track leading you into “Arsonist,” a song consisting of mainly just clean guitar and vocals. After “Arsonist,” “Pride” kicks in with a drum fill that literally knocks the listener out of this downtempo section of the EP and completes the album in an upbeat way.”

Something Worth Saving drops next Monday, February 1.
