The newest trailer for ‘The Conjuring 2’ promises a horrifying trip to London

In 2013, The Conjuring became a huge hit based on the work of husband and wife Ed and Lorraine Warren, noted paranormal investigators. The film was a perfect mix of suspense, dread, and a smattering of jump scares. The Conjuring 2 looks to deliver the same thrill this summer.

This time, the Warrens (played by Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson) are traveling to London to help a single mother after her and her four children begin to experience some rather sinister happenings in their home. Of course, things escalate further once the Warrens begin their research. With a creepy nun-ghost, a children’s choir singing ominously in the background, and James Wan’s masterful camerawork building tension, you may be compelled to turn an extra light on and look over your shoulder just watching the trailer, which you can view after the jump.

I’m a huge horror fan, and I am thrilled that Wan appears to have created another fantastic entry into modern horror canon. I’m not ashamed to admit that I jumped a couple times during the trailer, and am eagerly awaiting the full film.

The Conjuring 2 stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Simon McBurney, Franka Potente, and David Thewlis and opens June 10, 2016.
