It’s only been a few months since Star Wars: The Force Awakens drew us all back into a galaxy far, far away, and now we have another Star Wars trailer to examine and get excited about. The trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story premiered this morning on Good Morning America, and it is everything we could have hoped for and more.

Rogue One is set before the events of Episode IV, and follows the group of Rebels that stole the Death Star plans Princess Leia has at the beginning of the 1977 classic. The trailer gives us a peek at new planets, new Stormtroopers, a ton of action, and just enough of the story to have us counting down the days until the film’s release. The shot of the Death Star’s cannon being installed is particularly breathtaking, and you can watch the trailer for yourself below.

Disney has pulled together an amazing group of actors for Rogue One, with Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), and Forrest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) among the excellent cast. Gareth Edwards, who last helmed 2014’s Godzilla, is set to direct, and initial impressions are promising.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set for release on December 16, which is still way too far away.
