It’s been almost five years to the day since we were treated to a new Gorillaz album. Fans have been clamoring for new music since The Fall dropped all the way back in April 2011. Thankfully, it appears that our wait may soon be over.

Band co-creaters Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn can be seen hard at work in a recording studio in two videos posted to Hewlett’s Instagram account. The first video shows the band messing around with some simple beats and verses, while the second is a soundless time-lapse of the group in the studio. Check out both videos below.

There has still not been any official word on the fifth studio album from the Gorillaz, but this footage has us hopeful that a release date isn’t too far off.
