Akron, Ohio post-rock band If These Trees Could Talk have released the first single off their newly announced third album, The Bones of a Dying World, out June 3 on Metal Blade Records. Physical and digital pre-orders are available now.
The nearly eight-minute “Solstice” kicks off with heavy guitar riffs as it sets a dark tone before transitioning into something gentle yet harrowing, with epic guitar solos.
On The Bones of a Dying World, which was recorded in the band’s hometown and mixed by drummer Zack Kelly, guitarist Mike Socrates says, “The songs were constructed in a much more deliberate and cautious approach. A lot of time was spent on small parts and transitions in order to maximize the full effect of the song as a whole. In a way, we feel like this is the perfect continuation from Red Forest.”
