‘Wet Hot American Summer’ is returning to Netflix once again

When Netflix released Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp last year, it quickly became one of our favorite shows. First Day of Camp perfectly encapsulated what made 2001’s Wet Hot American Summer a cult classic, and was a hilarious, delightful experience. Today, Netflix announced that we’re going back to Camp Firewood again in 2017.

The new series, Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later will be set—you guessed it—ten years after the original movie’s setting of 1981. Netflix released a short announcement teaser, which you can watch below. The teaser makes it seem like a good portion of the stacked original cast will still be onboard, but there’s no official news on that front yet. We also don’t have much in the way of plot details, but given the charm and success of First Day Of Camp, which hilariously served as a prequel to the 2001 film (despite the actors’ ages), we’re confident Ten Years Later will live up to expectations.

Are you as excited as we are by the announcement? Any guesses about what will have transpired in those ten years? Give us your input in the comments below.
