The Hold Steady to play ‘Boys and Girls in America’ anniversary shows

This coming October marks 10 years since The Hold Steady released their excellent third album, Boys and Girls in America. To honor this anniversary, the band announced today that they will be playing a series of live shows in the Fall to mark the occasion.

No exact dates were announced today, but the band—through a post on Facebook—promised that specifics are coming on May 18. The band also announced that former keyboardist Franz Nicolay will be returning for the shows. If that wasn’t exciting enough, there will also be reissues of Almost Killed Me and Separation Sunday on vinyl through Frenchkiss Records. There was a lot of amazing news packed in this one post, which we’ve linked to below.

Boys and Girls in America is truly a masterpiece of an album, and this news has us counting down the days until May 18 for the full release of the tour dates. Check back here, as we’ll have more info when it’s available.
