We may be months away from Halloween, but any time is a good time for a scary movie. To that end, Lionsgate has released a teaser for their upcoming horror film The Woods, and it looks like it’s going to deliver the scares and then some.

The Woods is being directed by Adam Wingard, who has helmed a number of excellent horror films already, including You’re Next, The Guest, and segments in the first two V/H/S films. The trailer doesn’t give us much in the way of plot, besides the fact that a group of friends go camping in the titular woods. It turns out they’re not alone, and things go very, very wrong. The trailer is chillingly effective without showing much, thanks in part to an unnerving cover of The Police’s “Every Breath You Take.” You can check out the teaser yourself after the jump.

Given Wingard’s track record and the praise that has already come out for the movie, we are super excited for The Woods to scare the crap out of us.

The Woods stars Callie Hernandez, James Allen McCune, Brandon Scott, Wes Robinson, and Corbin Reid and will hit theaters September 16.
