Anti-Flag Announce New Album, ‘American Spring’

Anti-Flag will release their tenth studio album, American Spring, this coming May through Spinefarm Records. It will act as a followup to 2012’s The General Strike.

“We are excited to announce that our tenth full-length record will be released on Spinefarm Records this spring,” the band stated earlier today via their official website. “There is no shortage of fodder for a new record of commentary on the social and political climate in 2015: Endless wars, the new Jim Crow and American injustice, corprotocracy, environmental coup d’état, the surveillance state, loss, grief, and anxiety. We hope that these …

Rise Against Frontman Covers Guns N’ Roses For ‘This Concerns Everyone’ Compilation

When anything political is brought into the music world, musicians have a tendency to speak out against the matter at hand with different opinionated views resonating from it. Usually, they will stop at nothing until their message has been heard and will create music with lyrics that pertain to that matter that can truly help make a difference.

Today, A-F Records have announced that they will be releasing a compilation named This Concerns Everyone which brings awareness to the ongoing crisis in Iraq and the Middle East. The compilation will be released on November 18 and will feature Tom Morello …

Anti-Flag Release Alternate Version of “Police Story” in Wake of Ferguson Tragedy

There’s no hiding the fact that the events that have taken place in Ferguson, MO have been utterly disgusting. In an act that fully embraces the positive “greater good” mentality of punk music, Anti-Flag have put in their effort to contribute to the Michael Brown Jr. memorial fund by releasing an alternate version of their song “Police Story” and offering it for $1 purchases through their Bandcamp page.

The song (which was originally released on their 1999 album, A New Kind of Army) can be heard following the jump alongside the band’s statement on the matter which they posted …

Anti-Flag Post “Close My Eyes”

Anti-Flag have had a busy year. They just put out a “greatest hits” of sorts, A Document of Dissent, on July 22, and they’ve also been continuing the 20 Years of Hell 7″ set.

Well today, they just posted the last track from it, “Close My Eyes.” Chris #2 had a few words regarding the song: “‘Close My Eyes’ is a really personal track to me. I wanted to interject the things that have happened in my life and to my loved ones into this song. The Trayvon Martin case floored me. I had so much empathy for his …

You can view a video announcing the album and what it means to the band …

Anti-Flag Stream Unreleased Track From First Demo

In twenty-plus years of playing punk rock, you’re bound to end up with a fairly hefty catalog of unreleased material. That’s certainly the case for Anti-Flag, and now the Pittsburgh punks are starting to make some of that material available to fans. One of these tracks, “I Hate People Like You,” is streaming now over at Noisey.

“I Hate People Like You” sounds just as scrappy, messy, and fun as you would expect a young Anti-Flag to sound. It was recorded with the band’s first demo, released in 1992, and it is finally seeing the light of day …

UTG PHOTOS: Warped Tour Cleveland, Part I

PART I – Vans Warped Tour Cleveland (Cuyahoga Falls, OH – Blossom Music Center) July 11, 2012

Vans Warped Tour is always a unique experience for all.  There is a band to fit every rock genre and then some.  This year arguably featured the best lineup in the past few years.  I recall walking into Warped Cleveland (aka Cuyahoga Falls) last summer (as well as Cincinnati) not-so-prepared for the 95 degree day, humidity that seemed to last a lifetime, with enough sweat to fill a kiddie pool, but plenty of camera batteries in an excessively heavy camera bag.  Thankfully, …

Fest 11 Drops Lineup

Gainesville, FL based Fest 11 announced the initial set up bands today for it’s October festival, and it’s unnecessarily fantastic. With bands such as Streetlight Manifesto, Frank Turner, Mixtapes, Polar Bear Club, and TONS of fantastic punk bands, this year is going to be fantastic as always. They haven’t even dropped the huge headliners yet (last year Lifetime was their big reveal, but when things went south with Lifetime they just picked up Kid Dynamite, no big deal right?), so here in UTG camp we’re really excited to see some more reveals. Check out the lineup after the break and …
