The Bamboozle Festival Will Not Return In 2013

Earlier this year, we reported that The Bamboozle Festival would not be returning to Asbury Park in New Jersey in 2013. At the time, we thought it was an indication that the festival was moving to the other side of the country. This no longer seems to be the case.

After not turning a profit in 2012, the Bamboozle Festival is taking 2013 off. It still aims to return in 2014, so we can be optimistic about that. However, it’s a disappointment in itself; if 90,000 tickets isn’t enough to turn a profit anymore, there are probably more changes coming …

Bamboozle Avoiding Asbury Park

Rock festival Bamboozle is not going to be held at Asbury Park, concert producer Live Nation has confirmed. Live Nation will continue to hold shows there, but Bamboozle failed to turn a profit in 2012 being held in Asbury. This comes as a big surprise, as last year’s festival surpassed 90,000 attendees.

Live Nation has informed us that at least for Bamboozle — because of the economics of doing it in Asbury Park and where the city is and where they are — it won’t work here,” City Manager Terence Reidy said Thursday.

Asbury Park manager Terence Reidy …

Brand New to Play Bamboozle Pre-Show

Brand New announced a show today on May 19 at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ that is a warmup show for their Bamboozle performance this week. Brand New plays a lot of one off shows and doesn’t stick to a strict touring schedule, so seeing them these days is kind of a rare surprise.

You can get tickets here for the show at 12PM EST, and if you have any inclination whatsoever to go buy them right away. Because of Brand New’s rabid fanbase, tickets generally sell out very fast.

We ended things a number of years ago and didn’t really talk that much. At the end there was a lot of disappointment and it was a weird
