Cage The Elephant Share Video for “Cigarette Daydreams”

Before Cage the Elephant takes off with The Black Keys, the band has filmed a video for the song “Cigarette Daydreams,” which is off their latest full-length, Melophobia.

The video is plotted with a story of a woman that is fleeing for her life in an attempt to escape from an evil entity. It also suggests that the only way to get away is to take her own life.

Rebecca Docter’s ‘Best of 2013’ In Music

2013 delivered a sea of great albums, but five stood out above the rest. Check out what albums made my cut!

5. Moving Mountains – Moving Mountains

Very seldom do I find an album that I can listen to all the way through without skipping or shuffling tracks, so when I listed to Moving Mountains’ self-titled, I was surprised to find that this was one such album. I came into the Moving Mountains game blind after seeing recommendation after recommendation on many of my usual news outlets, so I gave the band a try with the new release. The album …

Cage The Elephant’s ‘Melophobia’ Influenced By Modest Mouse

In a recent interview with Fuse, members of Cage The Elephant revealed that they have Modest Mouse to thank for the band’s newest release, Melophobia.

After years of touring in support of previous releases Cage The Elephant and Thank You, Happy Birthday, the band feared writing music that “catered to be perceived as artistic, poetic, cool, commercial or anything other than being an honest communicator of a thought or feeling that genuinely inspired you.”

Isaac Brock, the Modest Mouse frontman who signed Morning Teleportation (close friends of Cage The Elephant), told a member of Morning Teleportation that …

Cage The Elephant Debut “Come A Little Closer”

Cage The Elephant have returned with the first single from their highly-anticipated new album, Melophobia.

Guiding listeners through a sonic realm that can only be describe as groovy-meets-sexy space rock, Cage The Elephant are taking big steps forward with “Come A Little Closer.” It’s part love song and part jam session, with just the right amount of funk to keep you grooving even when the tempo slows. If you can manage to sit still when the bridge rolls into the final refrain you have far more restraint than anyone at UTG HQ.

Melophobia hits stores October 8, and from …
