Daft Punk Legos 2

Daft Punk Legos May Be On The Way

It looks like there will be more Daft Punk goodness in 2015 apart from a new documentary. The iconic electronic duo of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter may get turned into Lego figurines in the near future.

According to Radio.com, Lego’s Ideas page has a Daft Punk pitch with over 5,000 supporters. The idea includes a robot world of mini figurines, guitars, synths, mini pads, and a lighting rig (!), including sets inspired by their “Around The World” video and “ALIVE 2007? stage. Best of all, Lego seems open to the idea. “This project is speeding and …

Pharrell Teams With Edgar Wright For “Gust Of Wind” Video

This isn’t the Edgar Wright movie you were looking for, but it’s all you’re apt to get for a while.

Pharrell enlisted the renowned Shaun of the DeadScott Pilgrim, and NOT Ant-Man director for his latest music video. It won’t blow you away with clever quick cutting or mind-blowing imagination, but it’s certainly a gorgeous video with some neat ideas.

Pharrell is outfitted in a big hat, naturally, and he’s surrounded by beautiful dancers throughout. Wright’s representation of Daft Punk takes a page from Easter Island, and the framing of Pharrell with hand claps is a most …

Daft Punk Documentary Coming In 2015

The Daft Punk hype will continue into next year as BBC Worldwide Production France teams up with French TV channel Canal+ to bring an hour-long TV documentary. The untitled documentary is set to air in 2015.

Variety reports that the doc will cover the duo’s career from their beginnings in 1993 to the smashing success of last summer’s Random Access Memories.

The documentary will be written and directed by Hervé Martin Delpierre, and co-written by Marina Rozenman. Producer, Patrice Gellé said, “We are proud to announce our first commission with Canal Plus Group on such an original and creative …

Daft Punk to Perform With Pharrell, Nile Rodgers, and Stevie Wonder at Grammys

It’s time viewers everywhere unanimously lose themselves to dance. We already know that Daft Punk will be delivering their first live performance in support of Random Access Memories ever at the 2014 Grammy Awards later this month. But now, considering how big the event (and the band) are, we find out France’s electro-duo have something up their sleeves.

In a recent interview (that’s also him trying on clothes), drummer Omar Hakim, who contributed to several tracks on RAM, confirmed he’ll be performing with the duo at the Grammys. He gave more details about the performance, like the fact that …

See the 20 Most Pirated Musicians of 2013

This year was big for music, and, as always, a big loss in terms of sales. According to to new statistics released from music analytics firm Musicmetric, Daft Punk, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and Drake were a few of the musicians to see their music illegally downloaded the most in 2013. Bruno Mars and Rihanna came in first and second, respectively, with Mars’ singles peaking at 5,783,556 downloads and Rihanna’s at 5,414,166 downloads.

If you’re having trouble remembering what exactly Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and half of the other artists on this list put out this year, know you aren’t out

Daft Punk Will Perform At The 2014 Grammy Awards

Rolling Stone has reported that Daft Punk will be performing at the 2014 Grammy Awards, the duo’s first televised performance since joining Kanye West for “Stronger” during the 2008 Grammy Awards. That performance was apparently the reason the duo will finally be performing material from Random Access Memories for the masses at these Grammy Awards, which are set to take place on January 26 at 8 PM EST. From Rolling Stone:

“We learned that because they had such a good experience with us when they appeared with Kanye in 2008, they were happy to discuss a performance on this year’s

Daft Punk Release Music Video For “Instant Crush” Featuring Julian Casablancas

Daft Punk have released a music video for “Instant Crush,” which features Julian Casablancas of The Strokes. The track comes from their critically acclaimed album Random Access Memories, which was released in May of this year. Taking a sidebar from the continuity of Daft Punk’s videos for “Get Lucky” and “Lose Yourself to Dance,” the video features a tragic love story between two statues in a history museum.

In addition to starring in the video, Casablancas contributed lead vocals and a guitar solo to the track. You can check out the video for “Instant Crush” after the jump. …

Hear DJ Earworm’s Mashup of the Top 25 Songs From 2013

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of the year. DJ Earworm has once again taken on the challenge of mixing the top 25 songs of the year into one know-it-all song. And, as usual, it sounds pretty good.

Clocking in around five minutes, the mashup features samples from Lorde, Daft Punk, Eminem, Katy Perry, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Jay-Z, and more. It’s a step-up from last year’s song, but I have to say that 2010’s is the best wrap-up mashup DJ Earworm has done (or at least in my heart, anyway).

See the full list of songs sampled as well …

Bono and The Edge Cover Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky”

When Bono isn’t out saving the world, he likes to let his hair down and have a little fun – at charity events. Okay, so you can’t pull that guy away from a good cause. This weekend when he was in New York at the AIDS charity (RED) auction afterparty he hopped on stage with the Edge to cover Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.”

Not only did the audience get one half of U2, but Niles Rodgers who co-wrote the hit was also on deck. Since he’s Bono, we’ll forgive him for not knowing all the words, but at least he …

Daft Punk, Pharrell, and Nile Rodgers get glitzed up in new video

Worried that there might be a day in your 2013 when you might not hear Pharrell’s croon, Daft Punk have revealed that the second single off of Random Access Memories is “Lose Yourself to Dance.” The year of Pharrell continues, but whether or not this second single can recreate the magic that captured America’s heart is yet to be seen.

The quartet of Daft Punk, Pharrell, and Rodgers go full disco in the single’s video. This video is the very one that was teased with a brief clip at the VMAs, which already feels like it happened ages ago. Clothed …

Pharrell Williams to Collaborate With One Direction

Is there anything Pharrell Williams hasn’t done? The singer, rapper, producer, and fashion designer already rocks a guest spot on two of the year’s most popular singles (Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines“), and now it seems One Direction will get lucky as well.

In a conversation with The Mirror, he said he and the group are “definitely talking.” It seems odd for the 40-year-old to have his eyes set on the English boy band for his next collaboration, but it turns out he’s a fan of their sound. “From what I’ve …

Hear Fall Out Boy’s Cover of “Get Lucky”

Daft Punk’s monster single “Get Lucky” has seen just about every type of cover, from Animal Crossing’s K.K. Slider all the way up to Simon Pegg & Nick Frost’s dramatic reading. Now Fall Out Boy have taken the single into their own hands to cover it live at the first stop of their arena tour.

Fall Out Boy’s cover of “Get Lucky” turns the song into a more jazzy rendition, with Patrick Stump playing the keys and Andy Hurley keeping a steady ring from the high-hats as he drums. If there was better audio (and not thousands of fans …
