Lil Wayne Issues Apology to Emmett Till’s Family

Lil Wayne has issued a direct apology to the family of slain Chicago teenager Emmett Till for using insensitive lyrics in Future’s song “Karate Chop (Remix).” Read the statement to Till’s family and comment if you think changing the lyrics was the right thing to do.

Wayne acknowledging the family’s feelings on the matter was a good move.

Dear Till Family:

As a recording artist, I have always been interested in word play. My lyrics often reference people, places and events in my music, as well as the music that I create for or alongside other artists.

Movie: The Croods
Director: Kirk DeMicco, Chris Sanders
Writer: John Cleese, Kirk DeMicco, Chris Sanders
Studio: DreamWorks Animation

An all-star cast and fantastic creatures brings this prehistoric story out of the cave and into your heart.

I will be the first to admit that I was not excited to see The Croods. I am not a fan of kids movies, I hate 3-D, and I was not really feeling that well the night I was supposed to go to the theater thanks to my old nemesis, the common cold. Then creator of UTG, James Shotwell, told me to look …

The Gay Blades 2012

The Gay Blades Release Song To Help Those Affected By Hurricane Sandy

The Gay Blades are without a doubt one of the most influential bands in the life of UTG. Our name hails from a song on their debut album, and we have constantly promoted the New York duo at every given chance. They’re one of many bands that deserve more than they have been given by the world, but in the light of everything they still have the good conscience to strive to aide others.

This morning, The Gay Blades released a new single entitled, “Family.” The song was written and recorded with the intent of being released to aide those …

We Bought A Zoo

Film: We Bought A Zoo
Starring: Matt Damon
Director: Cameron Crowe

Returning to the silver screen six-years after Elizabethtown failed to make the cultural impact many had hoped, Cameron Crowe is targeting families everywhere this holiday season with We Bought A Zoo. Based on a true story and lead by an impressively empathetic Matt Damon, the film strays from Crowe’s glory days, but packs just enough schmaltz and feel good vibes that most will never even notice.
